Glenmar Northern Bay Regatta @ Haven Harbor White Dock #38

For PHRF classes, it is anticipated to conduct a total of five (5) races, with three (3)
races on Saturday and two (2) races on Sunday. These will be Windward/Leeward
(W/L) courses of approximately 4NM. Each race will be a CBYRA sanctioned event.
For CRCA classes we plan to provide one distance race on Saturday.

  1. Let’s start thinking about logistics for this two day event. Check in time is 10:30; Region 1 Mark Q (~10nm). We will have to leave dock at 7am. There are three races on Saturday and two races on Sunday; 4nm each. Glenmar is hosting a BBQ at Markley’s Marina (Essex, MD) on Saturday night with band and plenty of beer! Slips there are first come first serve (I will call ahead and try and reserve). Do we want to pre-position car with sleeping bags/other gear? May depend on forecast; light vs heavy air.

    Watching the weather for this event; currently 11-14mph with gusts 18-22 and about same for Sunday 10-13mph, gusts 17-20. Forecast could change as we are still out 4 days form the event. Several factors to consider if this is a good fit for In the Red and crew. I will decide Friday morning. Thanks for your patience.

  3. Forecast is looking better; still monitoring. I’ll send logistics email by tomorrow night.

  4. IMPORTANT UPDATE! I am not able to position a car in Middle River to facilitate return of crew on Saturday after the race. Please let me know asap if this changes your availability for Saturday.

    Skipper will provide water, lunch and snacks for Saturday. Crew BYO(B) for Sunday.

    Lunch: chicken salad or chickpea salad wraps

    Snacks; nuts, baby bell cheese, turkey summer sausage, crackers, potato chips, nectarines, and cookies and more!

    Dinner: Event BBQ, includes all the beer you can drink

    Sun breakfast: event continental breakfast

    Please bring a sleeping bag, top sheet and/or blanket for overnight.

    Jack hope you can make it Saturday, if not we totally understand!
